Idaho, medical cannabis initiative, signature submission
The Natural Medicine Alliance of Idaho turned in over 150,000 signatures in support of a medical cannabis program! The campaign did an incredible job at organizing events and mobilizing volunteers across the state to make this a reality.
Now, the Secretary of State has until June 30 to verify the signatures. To qualify for the November ballot, 70,725 of the signatures must be valid, and the campaign must have met geographic requirements.
To help keep up this positive momentum, if you are a medical patient who would benefit from a program in Idaho, a caregiver, or a supportive medical professional, please share your story with us!
The Idaho Legislature has been adamantly opposed to cannabis policy reforms. The Legislature passed a resolution in April urging “the citizens of Idaho to reject any effort to bring the Idaho Medical Cannabis Act to the ballot.”
Last year, the legislature referred a measure to the November 2026 ballot that, if passed, would bar citizens from ever voting on a ballot measure legalizing marijuana or other drugs ever again!
Idaho is one of the most restrictive states on cannabis, and it continues to get worse. Last year, it also imposed a mandatory minimum fine for cannabis possession, in addition to possible jail.
The need for Idaho citizens to fight for their own medical cannabis program has never been more evident. Please share your story.
