descheduling, Hawaii, low-THC cannabis
We are sorry to report that the bill to legalize low-THC products under Hawai‘i law — SB 3275 — failed to advance before legislative deadlines.
But there is still a chance to get legislators on the record on cannabis legalization…
Two recently introduced resolutions, SCR 64 and HCR 138, call on Congress to de-schedule cannabis, provide states with support to clear cannabis records, and facilitate full access to banking for cannabis-related businesses.
If you live in Hawai'i, ask your state senator and representative to support SCR 64 and HR 138.
Meanwhile, a modest but important medical cannabis reform is advancing. In a unanimous vote, the Senate passed SB 3315 SD 2, which would allow patients to immediately purchase medical cannabis upon applying for a medical cannabis ID card. Patients can immediately fill a prescription when they receive it, and they should not have to wait to receive medical cannabis.
