Arizona, public smoking

Ariz.: Help defeat a bill that would criminalize smoking on private property!

The Arizona Senate Judiciary and Elections Committee is considering a bill that would recriminalize the smoking of cannabis – even on private property! In 2020, 60% of voters passed Prop 207, legalizing cannabis consumption. It is absurd for lawmakers to override the will of a supermajority of voters.

If you live in Arizona, ask your state senator and representative to oppose this draconian bill.

If passed, SB 1725 would deem “excessive” cannabis smoke and odor a public and criminal nuisance — even at private residences! Criminal nuisances carry up to six months in jail.

This outrageous bill would not apply to tobacco smoke, which has repeatedly been shown to be more harmful to one's health.

We cannot let prohibitionist legislation repeal a voter-passed law and recriminalize cannabis consumers.
