Wash. Lawmakers Submit Bill to End State’s Prohibition on Marijuana

A pair of Washington State legislators has submitted a bill to end the state’s prohibition on marijuana, similar to the one introduced by California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) back in February.  The primary sponsor of the bill, Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson (D-Seattle) says she’s happy to start the conversation about ending marijuana prohibition to get the attention of Congress.

A bill more likely to pass is the decriminalization bill introduced earlier this year, which was recently endorsed by the Washington State Bar Association.  The bill stalled last year without reaching a vote, but remains active in the upcoming 2010 session.  Lets remain hopeful that Washington lawmakers do the right thing and stop throwing citizens in jail for using a substance less harmful than alcohol.

Thank you to all who had a hand in this. One state at a time is better than no state at all. One day, and I hope soon, all of America can hit a fatty.

Being able to smoke a doobie in the comfort of your own home is an inalienable right. We the people of the United States,in order to form a more perfect Union, no lie. Will we ever regain the freedoms we are supposedly born with. I just hope that I live long enough to see that day.

Will Believe It When I See It.

Orrin Hatch, yep Utah Senator, said the other day something about a conscious, he was referring to abortion being paid for by taxpayers in the health care bill. My first thought when I heard him say conscious, was where the hell is yours when it come ending Prohibition?

The view of the capitol building, smoking a fat joint under that big tree on the front lawn is beautiful. I did that in 1980. So should all of you.

Great News for Washington, I am from Florida and just recieved a letter from my senator, maybe we can encourage him to start a bill in Florida, read the letter to see why.

“Dear Mr. Zee:

Thank you for contacting me. I thought that you might be interested in some information regarding medical marijuana.

Recently, the Department of Justice revised its policy on the prosecution of individuals who use medical marijuana. This does not change the Controlled Substances Act or any Federal laws prohibiting the manufacture, production, distribution, possession, or use of marijuana.

The new guidelines direct Federal prosecutors in States that have enacted laws authorizing the use of medical marijuana to focus their resources on individuals who violate the terms, conditions, or purposes of the State’s laws. These guidelines will help prosecutors focus their attention on individuals who engage in illegal activities, trafficking and distributing marijuana under the guise of compliance with State laws.

Please know that I will keep your views in mind should this issue come before the Senate.

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson”

I have also come across a website that will help Florida get on the 2010 ballot for a medical marijuan initiative. If you are from Florida, i urge you to go to this website, download, sign and send back the petition (donations i assume are also appreciated), and help Florida become one of the many states I see to come in 2010 allowing medical use of marijuana. Please visit http://pufmm.org/ and get this marijuana movement going in high gear.

side note to my prior posting, any one from any state could donate to http://pufmm.org/, but you should still visit the site and check with them.

The day is coming fast when the last of the old Harry J. Anslinger mindset Wacko Drones will finally step down, or just expire, and on that day We the People WILL reclaim that lost part of our Country, our Freedom, and Our Inalienable Right to Choose. It’s just sad we had to wait this long, which also just goes to prove the power of the lie, once told, and no matter how outrageous, to live on no matter how much truth slams up against it. There is a lesson to be learned in there somewhere.
And as my Uncle Henry used to tell me so many years ago:
Weed will get you through times of No Money better than Money will get you through times of No Weed.
Simple but oh so true philosophy.
Peace!

Let Freedom Ring! I’m a medical patient in Washington State; and to see where we are moving since medical legalization in 98 is a great thing to feel. I just feel the prohibition woes and conservative viewpoints. Can’t even cultivate my medicine because my g/f’s dad is against go figure? But im permitted, and her mom or her won’t even bring the subject to him. Viva la Sensimilla!!
