Brace Yourself: Kids Know Where to Find Marijuana
No real surprises in the latest National Survey of American Attitudes on Substance Abuse, the annual National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse survey of teens’ and parents’ attitudes on drug use. But it does confirm what we’ve long known about the availability of illicit drugs for kids – including marijuana – compared to that of regulated drugs such as alcohol and tobacco.
According to the report, half of the 16- and 17-year-olds surveyed said their peers use marijuana more than tobacco. More teens say it’s easier to acquire marijuana than beer. And there’s a 35% increase from last year in the number of teens who say they can buy marijuana within an hour and a 14% increase in the number of teens who say they can find it in a day.
Like I said – no big surprise; tobacco and alcohol have realistic controls placed on them. We enforce rules prohibiting sales to minors, and we talk honestly with our children about the dangers and responsible use of these substances by adults .
But marijuana is illegal. That means we must leave it up to drug dealers to determine what – if any – age limit ought to be placed on its sale, and we must lie to kids in order to justify the fallacy that marijuana is too dangerous to control or regulate.

i recently got arrested 11 days after my 18th birthday for less than an ounce of pot and went to jail for 22 hours and got charged with a FELONY. my attorney bills and “drug treatment” has costed my family thousands.

i read your article and i must say in the case of kids saying that bud i easier to obtain then beer thats true but the kids who say that they can find bud in a day thats a lie before my older brother went to jail serving a six year sentence for overgrowing and intent to sell i attended mt.eden
highschool and most of the kids at the school smoked weed and in fact bought it from my brother in fact its a true fact that most drug dealers live very close to schools live in appartments known to have alot of kid flow and even in places close to police stations so not to look suspious cause in the mind ofa drug dealer its impossible to get busted if u live real close to an police station or so they think but i feel like this if u gonna grow weed and sell it ive heard fo cannabis clubs that u can grow for it really doesnt make any sence to sell weed to miners at the risk of being caught and going to jail loosing ur canabis card and never being able to get in again u feel me so in the words of my grandma nigga dont be dumb its only amater of time before ur caught time aint forever but greed last a life time so all u people who think that ur time aint gonna come wen i gotta bounce i feel sorrry foe u thizz nuty Ca$hew/aka/Maklaughin,jr and im out

imma talk about dombasses like my brother mak anyways this guy gets his cannabis card and listens to wat the docters gotta say about respecting the rules of the cannabis world man haveing a cannabis card is a privelidge not a right so this my brother says that he understands the rules and regulations of medical cannabis culture and then turns around and abuses his shit so in january 17th 3 days after my moms birthday at 2:07 am the police broke down our door and proceeded 2 take me my and my three brothers 2 jail not knowing witch one of us was the one fucking p so wen they sed thatwe would all face the maximum penilties of law inforcementmy older brother sed that it was him that did everything and then we watched them take him away court dates unknown the last thin we heard was that he was being sent to folsome prison on his third strike man the system is rigged to fuck u up
I totally agree especially as a teen myself being only 17 years of age. Getting marijuana is so easy, whether you’re getting it from a classmate at school or a drug dealer it’s all around easier to get than tobacco and alcohol. When I was even younger than I am now I used to smoke pot a lot, I don’t anymore but it was easy to find I’ll wake up in the morning wanted to get high and by the end of the day it was accomplished. I do think marijuana needs to be legalized for the simple fact that it would control the drug itself and it would put some drug selling criminals out of business.

Im a fool for Jesus Christ’s sake. but Jesus Christ teahces me all things by His grace. Jesus Christ saves. theres nothing ’scary’ about people knowing where to find marijuana. they know where to find alcohol as well.
