The DEA Is At It Again …

I’m starting to sound like a broken record. Yesterday, the DEA, assisted by local law enforcement, raided several Michigan medical marijuana businesses and arrested the owners. No information has been released since the investigation is ongoing.

This sounds awfully familiar. Last month, federal authorities cracked down on medical marijuana facilities in Montana and California. According to all available information, those raided were in compliance with state law and were legitimate businesses.

It seems that the DEA is going to continue taking an active role in investigating and prosecuting medical marijuana patients and caregivers, regardless of Justice Department direction to the contrary. While they are legally allowed to enforce federal law in states where medical marijuana is permitted, the current policy directs them to only do so if state law is being broken.

I’m left wondering why the DEA is involved if the people and organizations being targeted are operating within state law. If these “criminals” are not following state law, why is it necessary to call in the feds? One would think local law enforcement is perfectly capable of enforcing their own state’s laws and wouldn’t want anyone nosing in on their jurisdiction. Could it be that some law enforcement and certain politicians see this as a way to impose extreme penalties on a group of people with whom they have personal and ideological problems?

Or is the DEA simply taking it upon themselves to interpret state law, storming in when someone is operating within a legal gray area?

Either way, the DEA has no business going after medical marijuana businesses in the states. This is a state issue that is best dealt with through debate and regulation, not with assault weapons and battering rams.

Please sign this petition asking President Obama to keep his promise and end the raids.

Read the list of charges in the Declaration of Independence against King George III, which aim to demonstrate that he had violated the colonists’ rights and was therefore unfit to be their ruler, and gave reasons to do what they did and throw off such Government. It’s very similar to what we have here today!

The DEA is still attacking Medical Marijuana clinics because they think there is more that just POT in these clinics. They think there just fronts for drug dealers to sell stronger Drugs like coke or meth. well that what I think.

My take is the DEA is attacking these clinics to show the tax payer their important and there still needs to be a DEA. What the government really needs to do is re-classify marijuana and stop all this nonsense. Legalization is near and they don’t know what to do. Keep educating the people with the truth and it will happen.

The DEA raids is an effort to make Obama looses his re-election so that the next presidential administration which most likely be a republican, may become more supportive and launch another national crusade against cannabis.

This is just sad and sick. I’ve been following the marijuana med laws in my state (Arizona) and the legislators making the setback rules for it seem like they’re supremely high or incredibly stupid.

I personally think the crackdowns by the DEA is a good sign that marijuana will eventually become federally legal. Let’s hope so. They’re most likely just fighting tooth and nail so they don’t have to get out and get a real job.

Legalization does not work, it is not compassionate, it does not stop the raids, it does not stop the arrest and incarceration. We cant replace unconstitutional bad legislation, with more unconstitutional bad legislation and get anywhere. The only solution that works and will work is a complete repeal of cannabis prohibition. That’s the constitutional stand it should be the only one we are supporting!! If you or your group would like to start a repeal cannabis prohibition movement for your state please check out http://potforfreedom.com

The current DEA is, without doubt, the largest; most active and most dangerous TERRORIST ORGANIZATION THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN!~Their actions of late defy all logic as well as defy the President’s directive. Along they go-as if NOTHING was ever said about their “role” in all of this LEGAL MARIJUANA BUSINESS; Making “constitutional history”-BY SUCH DEFIANCE- and, as previously mentioned, SCRAMBLING TO KEEP THEIR JOBS-seems their only PRIORITY. Yes, they know Cannabis will be declared “useful” only after we RAISE OUR VOICES AND DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF GIL KERLIKOWSKI AND MICHELLE LEONHART IMMEDIATELY!-FOR DISOBEYING A DIRECT PRESIDENTIAL MANDATE AND, BY EXTENSION, UNDERMINING THE AUTHORITY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
LAST TIME ANYONE DID THAT THEY WERE HUNG FOR TREASONOUS ACTIVITIES.
End of story…just sayin.

I am at a loss of words. There is NO difference between the D.E.A. and the NAZI’s, NONE!!! Clearly the D.E.A. broke the law. This is no different than the T.S.A. groping and fondelling of a SIX year old girl by a fed employee. THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT with no accountability from anyone. Our goverenment is the biggest criminal gang in the world next to the commies. Not much difference in my eyes. The govt has had a patent on cannabis since 2003 and we are still being told it has no use. It seems that the govt has become exactly what we came to America to get away from. Well NEWS FLASH, there is no place to go to so we must take this one back from the goverenment. I do not know where the tea party stands on the cannabis issue but we should find out. We have no choice but to repeal cannabis prohibition. VOTE OUT ANYONE NOT PRO CANNABIS!!!

The legalization is going to come. May take a little while still, but there is progress being made. I’m not one that uses cannabis, but I do support the right for people to use it since it isn’t harmful. Plus if it really does help people medically, then I’m a 100% for it. Much better than having someone addicted to Vicodin or Percocet.

We just need to keep supporting those who are supporting this legalization. Its simply just rationalizing the positive values of it. Plus how is it much diff than alcohol? It does the same thing to alter you mind…other than the fact I haven’t heard of someone coming home high and beating his wife to death.

#6,7, & 8 all touch good points I believe.

#6- Def repeal cannaprohibition!
#7- Def a terrorist organization!
#8- The paper-clip project after we beat Germany was a good idea at the time for our countries advancement, but I fear that America has been diseased with a Nazi undertone since. The SS also knocked down doors and raided homes! The only difference between the Nazi party of Germany and the Nazi party of America is, genocide is now acceptable in the form they have designed/ created. I call it financial genocide where the upper class causes financial hardships for the lower and middle class in attempt to make it as difficult as possible for lower/middle class to procreate or advance their representation in the gene pool.

If the world were to go up in flames today, the richest of the world have a spaceship orbiting the planet with their choice of genetic representation and all us measly average folk would be ash.

Support the end of the DEA, Czars, Federal dictatorship, and all those other dirty little secrets and institutions that twist and hide behind our Constitution and you can end the American Nazi party!

The swatztica was a symbol of spiritual advancement and peace for thousands of years before a small group of humanity turned it to the demonic sign of hatred it is today. Could this not be the same fate of the American Flag!?

it is all about the money they take in the raids it is aways the money in everything these days they get to keep it and make you come up with more to pay fines and court costs

If our govnmt does not work for the people.Then it must be destroyed and new govnmt must be put in it’s place..Isn’t that in the constitution? Just curious.

14 ca { 04.14.11 at 4:37 pm }

In response to Dan, Yeah, it is in the constitution, so far at least,
but give ‘em a little time to delete it. All in good time, Dam, all in good time. And time marches on.

There is a more simple reason that the DEA is not following policy. Presidential policy is just that, policy. It is still the DEA’s responsibility to uphold federal “LAW” regardless of the sitting President’s “POLICY”. There needs to be a federal push for decriminalization in order for fundamental changes in the ways marijuana can be used to take place.

Also state’s laws are still gray in some areas regarding medicinal marijuana. Many states are still building their legal view of the situation and crafting adequate legislation to provide for safe and compassionate use.

To get the DEA & Fed, all of it, IRS, bank intimidation, FBI, the Czar, Big Pharma, etc, out of it REALITY needs to be used on the drug Scheduling. Ganja is way proven to not be Sched 1 (unless sold by Big Pharma when it strangely becomes Sched 3). And Industrial Hemp has no place scheduled at all, not ingested! Both unscheduled Alcohol & Tobacco, full damage & Kill drugs, should be Sched 1, not unscheduled! Legalize truth! END the prohibition damage NOW!

18 KeLeMi { 04.16.11 at 3:39 am }

The DEA is trying to justify its existance. The war on drugs is as stupid as the war in Iraq.

19 Bryon { 04.16.11 at 12:01 pm }

I would think with time being freed up for the DEA they could focus on the hard drugs and all the problems that go with them. Guess what, there’s money to be confiscated in those rackets too! Leave the legitimate businesses (dispensaries) alone and go after the cocaine cartels and their ilk.

20 Mark { 04.17.11 at 4:35 am }

The DEA is a terrorist organization and should be treated as such.

21 Samson { 04.18.11 at 10:29 am }

It’s simple really…….when the DEA busts some one; they can then loot any and all financial assets. And that…my friends…..is a lot easier than asking the gov’t for funding $$$. Especially with our current debt problems.

22 Spanktor { 04.26.11 at 8:48 pm }

They just want to squeeze businesses for a while, so when they start taxing the businesses in the future people will say. “I would rather pay then be raided!” It’s simple mafia 101.

23 Dogbreth { 05.03.11 at 9:22 am }

I agree this administration is acting like the Nazi party. Getting into office under the liberal/progressive guise. Saying one thing but doing another. Wait until they put that new youth party (militia) together that has as much funding as the military. What community will they organize? Sounds like the Nazi to me.
We will all pretty much forget the days when all we had to worry about was the drug lord, mafia, and union called the DEA.
