Surge for Marijuana Policy Reform Makes Front Page of USA Today
In a fantastic example of how much the times have changed, the front-page, above-the-fold story in this morning’s USA Today, the “nation’s newspaper,” is about the “growing national movement” to reform marijuana laws.
Quoting numerous voices from within the marijuana policy reform movement, including MPP’s Kurt Gardinier, the piece highlights the growing public support for ending marijuana prohibition, paying particular attention to the many states that have passed or proposed legislation to allow medical marijuana, eliminate criminal penalties for possession, and even tax and regulate the nation’s largest cash crop like alcohol.
Years ago, such a huge splash in the mainstream media would have been hard to fathom. Hopefully it will serve to further sway public opinion in favor of much-needed reform.

Hell of a video from Judge Gray on the problems Prohibition causes. Must see. Show it to your hard headed friends. If they cant believe judge Gray theres no hope for them.
Judge Gray Is also mentioned in the story at USA today.
I believe if mirken and kampia were still at mpp they would strike while the iron is hot in the form of tv debates and scathing antimarijuana policy research facts.
Any self thinking person knows marijuana laws are wrong. It should be about helping people, not making money. I am so disgusted every moment of my life this continues. A few more grays are showing today…
we have come a long way in the past few years,we have a long way to go,keep up the pressure,we will WIN.
I hope this would unite the states with freedom, and to protect children and families from unjust laws. This is worth defending!

“The National Institute on Drug Abuse says marijuana can cause heart irregularities, lung problems and addiction.”
It’s a shame that only reference, and one with particular stake in, was noted to cite this kind of drawback. Overall, this is better than not!. Pretty soon, perhaps they’ll choose to display the pie chart with the 81% of support poll (the Washington Post poll on medical marijuana cited )
That may gain even more momentum. Just maybe… this is it!
@c
what happend to mirken and kampia???
did I miss something???
8# i believe i read something with in the last month that Rob, and Bruce have both stepped down from their posts at MPP. Reguardless, the fight must go on. We must raise more money to lobby this cause, and hopefully find someone as graceful as Bruce to vocally lead the cause. Man that guy was smoth as the come.
Hi just watched you videos and coming from the Northern Ireland I am extremely jealous of what you guys have going on at your side of the Atlantic. We still have a very sectarian police force and the drugs trade is controlled by terrorists. People are forced to grow their own and face serious reprisals if caught. I wish you every success and hopefully the world will follow the American example.
Judge Gray is outstanding!
i love that guy.
If Obama had gotten caught tokin when he was in college they wouldnt even let him in White House to sweep the floors.
#8 I did a little digging around on this and am disappointed with what I found, and hoping its not true:

Daanngg, well Terry I don’t think HT would just go around saying something like that if it weren’t , kind of sucks but it shouldn’t deter people from the cause.
This awesome news, but do we really want the media fighting for us….I know I wouln’t, so lets pick it up and fight at the frontlines. I am a little worried just to have learned that 150 cities here in California has banned medical marijuana diespeneries, what the use of legalizing it if our cities decide to restrict it? I think what we should do is locate all the cities that has banned the dispeneries and inform the residents of the city about marijuana prohibition. So that when the time comes and it’s legal in California the whole state will flourish….but then again I shouldn’t be too worried, once it’s legalized it will be contagious and people have the truth blown in their faces and will eventually remove their corrupted views about marijuana.
Ahem, I LOVE JUDGE GRAY!!!!!! Could someone please get this guy on the air and on national televison!!! please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know if weed is all of sudden going to get boring just because it’s legal….I dont know how that happened over there in holland….He even said that he expect more adults to use marijuana once its legal and then goes on to talk about it being legal in holland and it has reduced the amount of adult users. And obviously teen use. Anyways i dont get it.

This is great! Don’t forget to lead the way though. You can do so by supporting the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act! Go here now to check out their awesome site: http://www.cannabistaxact.org/
this is a long awaited media attention that we need to keep the ball rolling ! judge gray has made a very good case and hope that he stays on our side and not to be strayed away with big money!! the newspaper U.S.A. TODAY is a paper that is read by many ! and we need more of this to help us all gain what we want .. we all have tryed so hard to state our case and MPP has given us a voice of reason … i was watching the morning news here in my state of wisconsin and there was a farmer that had trouble with his health and when he called in to 911 the police and fire department showed up and found that he had 90 plants a growing and pounds and pounds in garbage bags ready for use in his barn …? and he was growing this cash crop so that he could save his farm and not lose what he was working so hard to keep his lively hood !! it is a shame that these farmers that work so hard here in the u.s.a are counting on failed crops that they lose money on every year like corn, cotton ect… these farmers have been up on the border lines of loseing every thing for a long time!! cost of fuel and supplies to run these crops is not easy work and often are not enough to make ends meet!! and now this farmer is faceing a real problem of loseing his farm and home and freedom ,just so he and his family can survive now he is going to jail just because he had a health emergency and called for some help .. now he is loseing his lifes work!! i think that the american farmers are tired of working hard for nothing and he told the law that he was just trying to save his farm… all farmers should be allowed to grow what ever they feel that is going to make them a liveing and they should not have to be afraid of loseing there freedom over a plant that is good for many things , fuel, clothing, rope, medication, ect… this all happened in racine county wisconsin are we going to keep killing our farmersand there familys???

We need to show our numbers on 4/20/2010. Let’s demonstrate how many people are for MMJ if not for outright legalization and pay sales taxes instead of taxes to put nonviolent people in jail for it. Turn it to a positive.
Use that other taxpayers money to get the violent people off the streets. If the government wants to help get rid of the cartels like they did the gangsters when alcohol was illegal. And alcohol causes a lot more problems than marijuana. So do the math. Make it legal and take awy the profit and the cartels will have their finatial backs broken. O.K. ,for all you people out there that say they will just continue selling the other drugs. Yeah, but the bulk of their money is made off marijuana. Take away the bulk and you have slimmed down their network considerably. It takes money to make money. People have to be paid off.
Less money equals less pay offs. O.K.,no more math. I’m just saying.
We can throw out this FASCIST REGIME when we vote people. We need to get back the DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY we were promised. We need to stop being the worlds policemen (that should be th UN’s job) and do what is right for the people not the corporations.RON PAUL 2112!!!!!!!!!!!
