Of Deck Chairs, the Titanic, and the New Drug Strategy
Today the Obama administration unveiled a new antidrug strategy for the Southwestern border, a region plagued by horrendous violence from Mexican drug cartels. Alas, the plan simply rearranges the proverbial deck chairs on the Titanic.
Lovely chairs they may be, but the boat’s still going down.
The plan, as reported by the Associated Press based on an advance copy, includes lots of technological fixes like “visual shields near border-crossing points so that drug cartel spotters can’t alert approaching motorists about inspections.”
Yeah, that’ll put the cartels out of business, just as sure as there’s a Tooth Fairy.
As MPP director of government relations Aaron Houston said in a statement today, “The plan ignores the central problem, which is that our policy of marijuana prohibition has handed the Mexican cartels a massive market that keeps them rolling in cash, not just in Mexico, but according to the Department of Justice, in 230 American cities.
“Rather than trying to make America’s 15 million monthly marijuana consumers go away, we need to gain control of this market by regulating marijuana like we do beer, wine and liquor,” Houston continued. “Any anti-drug effort that leaves the marijuana trade in the hands of the cartels is nothing but a full-employment plan for professional drug warriors and cartel bosses alike, not a serious proposal to address the problem.”

This is just a diversion from addressing the source of the underlying problem, marijuana prohibition. Only when our drug policies catch up to the times will the violence decrease. The Schafer report thought our marijuana laws were outdated in 1971, and yet America’s drug policies have remained stagnant.
I think (hope) the Obama administration is afraid of attacks from opponents and that is why they have shied away from addressing the problem in a more direct manner.
WASHINGTON, June 5 (Reuters) – The Obama administration’s top drug cop plans to spend more money on treating addiction and scale down the “war on drugs” rhetoric as part of an overhaul of U.S. counternarcotics strategy.
But don’t expect the White House to consider legalizing marijuana, drug czar Gil Kerlikowske said on Friday.
“The discussion about legalization is not a part of the president’s vocabulary under any circumstances and it’s not a part of mine,” Kerlikowske said in a telephone interview.
Everyone Bought into the bullshit, and here is your answers.
Bunch of dumb-asses
I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, but we need a website that allows us to develop and revise marijuana reform laws.
I’ve been using Drupal for a group project of mine, and it’s pretty handy. We just need a computer for the website to run on. What do you guys think?
And one more thing… do any of the lead guys in the MPP read these comments or are they just for supporters? I’m not complaining… just wondering.
The drug war continues as always.
The are a lot of flakes in the Obama administration who really don’t care as long their prime objective is to keep marijuana illegal no matter what. Sad but true.
MJ will never be legal. Quit wasting your time MPP.

Let’s increase the free supply to the point that it becomes a native plant! Get those seed collections out and start planting them everywhere, especially in parks, freeway onramps… What good are they doing on your dresser, anyway? Some of those seeds will survive, and imagine your surprise when you walk up on your first 5-foot, perfectly flowered monster that survived.
after reading ol’ gil’s interview with reuters from june 5th and that the SDPD are lying to doctors to get to patients and caregivers i feel like i just got punched in the stomach. really, really hard. what are we to do?
I too believe we are fighting an uphill battle with the Obama administration. They are in no way going to be soft on drugs and for sure during their first term. Now that said we could hope for some minor changes in the second term but not much, simply put, the democrats will want the white house again and will be hard pressed to help us out.
All in all this should be an republican issue, they are all for freedom to do what you choose, look at how they stripped the regulations away that led to this econiomic mess, Reagan started that in the 80’s! Of course votting for a libitairian, who would be on our side, will only take votes away from democrats and we will get stuck with another Bush! Its major catch 22!
At this point we have to wait them out, wait out the old farts and old time legislators and get some younger blood in. Once that happens the truth will have an easyer time reaching the public and we wont be turning hard working citizens into criminals!
Now we can sit back and hope for change or we can put down the bong once a week and spend that time writting letters and emails to legislators, go and help a friend or two to do the same and then help them do the same with their friends. We have to let these officals know that if they choose to ignore the facts and continue this same failed policy, that they will lose votes and in turn their seats! Educate as many people as we can while we wait and wait to get these old men out, and someday soon we will win this fight!
We all can at least do this much and if we do we may find there are far more of us than anyone ever thought!
He’s a puppet and nothing more,
He’s done very little toward real change and probably won’t.
I hope I’m wrong but history tells me were in for more big talk with little action: Keep up the fight.
The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.

Let’s stick to the basics and not get so far off the issue of legalization in reality. It will take years to play the legal political game, it’s a politicians game with political rules, opinions and in short, an outright wall we’re up against with opponents. Yes, we’ve made some really good progress over the past few years. But I truly believe something has to happen that will show the United States that marijuana users are a serious group to recon with. Police agencies only have so much money and resources or we’d all be in jail right now.
I just wish I had a better solution to fight a better more affective battle. Don’t believe the new drug czar’s comment about ending the drug war! It’s another lie to keep everyone passive and under control.
Sorry Brent, but voting for a liberitarian is probably the only voting way to end this war on drugs, and it’s not just the democrats that would loose the votes. In fact I believe that Dr Pauls run cost McCain way more votes than Obama.
The idea of california going insolvent because of this collapse, and the sudden surge in interest in taxing and regulating gives us a form of recourse. If we 35,000,000 have a ’spending-freeze strike’ to protest it will more than likely be enough to push legalization. The big plusses to this plan are, we won’t need to fly anywhere to have a massive showing, we will remain anonymous and at the end of the strike we will have enough money to buy some sweet leaf for the victory.
LOL as I said with others legalize and tax Marijuana would put a hurting on the cartel would be like cutting the legs out from inunder the cartel and would help us instead of helping the cartel through prohibition profits take 60% annual profit away from the cartel and tax and legalize marijuana and use the 60% annual profit to use on issues that can help the people as well as the govt.
Mater of fact………Here is a news update found at NORML
Marijuana Reform Questions Once Again Popular In White House Online Poll
Washington, DC: Questions pertaining to marijuana law reform are among the most popular public policy issues, as voted on by the public, in a new White House online poll.
Specifically, the public’s call to legalize and regulate marijuana for personal and medical purposes finished among the top 10 questions, according to the poll.
In all, over 900 policy questions were submitted and voted on by the public during the week of May 21 to May 28, 2009.
According to the White House, the purpose of the poll is to “ensure that [the public's] ideas inform the development of open government recommendations and the writing of subsequent policy and the development of open government projects as soon as possible.”
In previous White House sponsored online polls, questions pertaining to the legalization of marijuana have consistently garnered the top spot.
Commenting on the results, NORML Executive Director Allen St. Pierre said: “In both online surveys and in national public opinion polls, voters’ support for common sense marijuana law reform – including the regulation of cannabis for adults – is greater than at any time in history. For the Obama administration, marijuana law reform represents a political opportunity, not a political liability. Federal lawmakers from both parties would be wise to embrace the results of this and other polls and act accordingly.”

PUTTING UP WITH THIS SHIT BARLEY GETTING BY..SOME DONT THINK OFTHAT WE WONT EAT FOR A WEEK…GAS FOR A CAR IS GOING UP .FOOD ALSO.LOOK THE POT WILL BE THE LAST THING BEFORE OBAMA LEGALIZES WEED IS SO HE CAN KICK BACK AND THINK ABOUT NOTHING TILL HE DIES …
Be a single-issue voter: marijuana. That simple. If this is important enough to you, nothing else should matter for the next election (our nation can only go up at this point, right?). Let your reps, the pres, and the drug czar know of your voting intentions, and let them know there is a growing movement for single-issue voting on marijuana. Use hand-written letters or non-form emails. If old people and gun nuts can consolidate political and financial power, so can marijuana users. Talk to friends and family. Be more open. Make it a topic of normalcy and rationality. Wear shirts advocating sensible drug policy. Contact commentators and pundits at the major news organizations and blogs and make them aware of the growing movement of MJ voter consolidation. Make them scared of losing office.
“Single issue voting,” I like that statement tensity1 #16! For us medicinal voters I believe that would work or has it already? Obama got elected on the issue of MJ plus black voter support and we’re still getting busted, not to mention many regrets from blacks and the rest of Americans who trusted Obama to do the right thing. If any of you think the Anti-Christ hasn’t landed in our day and time then you’d better look a little harder at what’s transpiring in government. If this isn’t slavery, what is? My European associates refer to Americans as not so smart via working together to reach a goal like legalization of MJ. Most Americans are waiting for someone other than themselves to legalize MJ.
Keep hiding all of you silent MJ users, make little or no effort to support MJ issues and we’ll always be stuck listening to the cries of everyone in jail. The fear is constant and most people think this is normal?
I think that as activists we need to take advantage of the areas in which we can have sucess. The first thing that we should focus our energies on is getting Medical Marijuana available in all 50 states. The first step would be transforming the the current Controlled Substances Act. There needs to be a National call to remove marijuana from Schedule I of the CSA (just like the lawsuit Carl Olsen is having in Iowa). This is a matter of reading and followign the definitions Congress set up. Does the plant have medicinal uses? We need to continue to call the government out on their BS propaganda (using the term “Smoked” whenever talking about marijuana and the harms accociated). This initial step can not be about legalization. It has to do with following the law. We The People have to follow the law AND so do our elected officials.
Once marijuana is removed, a public discussion about where to appropriately place it in the CSA (or to place it there altogether) will have to take place. It will be in this discussion that the potential benefits for legalization can be discussed. Everything will depend on where it ultimately gets Scheduled.
As our new “drug czar” states, legalization is not in the vocabulary of the President. However, Medical Marijuana has been in his vocabulary for some time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvUziSfMwAw
“I think the basic concept that using Medical Marijuana in the same way, with the same controls, as other drugs prescribed by doctors… I think that’s entirely appropriate.”
SO MR. PRESIDENT….this doesn’t take an act of Congress to get done. Instruct the DEA to remove marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act and tentively place it in Schedule II until further direction by the HHS Secratary Sebilus. Direct your HHS Secretary to study the issue and to ultimately make the final recommendation as to the appropriate Schedule.
If the US Government supplies MMJ to 4 patients (one of which for 26 years) then there is recognition that there are medicinal uses for marijuana and therefore does not fit the definition of a Schedule I substance.

Tennessee Activist , I am a Single issue Voter, a Legal Medical Marijuana Patient in California and I am a letter writer, and e-mail your politician and President , kind of Guy. Also a Army Veteran. My contempt of The Puppet masters and their Ilk has always drawn me to make my views known, because as long as we have free speech in America we must not go gently into that good night. Fight , Fight the dying of the light!!! When Jesus comes to take me home I hope he allows me to give the finger to all the Politicians who have caused this evil on the earth. Yes probably sooner than I think, I will be smoking a Joint with Jesus, and you know it will be Thai Bud!!!!
Tenn Act- All good advice to keep up the good fight! I believe that for every one who actively voices their opinion here or anywhere else, there are 100 people reading and 1,000 that would NEVER voice their opinion, simply because of paranoia and 10,000 that wouldn’t come near this site or any other PRO-MJ offering their honest opinion on their personal pc with a ten foot pole.
Robert Vetter- heyBrotha’ in this insanity- I beg to differ, I believe that Jesus would smoke GOD BUD… heehee -It really exists. 34%THC -woah
I read the thread- there are so many great points- I have to comment on 19 because even as a Christian, I thought that was funny – As Christians, aren’t we supposed to pray for our “enemies” and offer the other cheek and Have faith that Jesus will be our vengence? For me, I agree totally with you. UP THEIRS! LOL- SERIOUSLY – I pray that everyone can see the wisdom of ending this crazy war on Marijuana.
To all you anti-marijuana people, I hope you are happy with yourself. You are promoting terrorism, you disgusting excuse for an American.
The fight is not over. Remember what Congressman Cohen did to FBI director Mueller the other week. I agree a single vote would certainly take care of the prohibitionists once and for all. Expose the lie my fellow activist. Marijuana is not meth, crack/cocaine or heroin. Hemp is not marijuana. We cannabis and we willabis get serious about our planet, the drug war and health issues in our country. We need to lock up the drugs not the people. Today is the day! The movement is on; this is and has been a war on the citizens. Marijuana victims are the collateral damage of the failed drug war. This is just another opportunity to let your voices be heard. Contact your legislators now.

Just sent a complaint to my legislators:
Are you serious? I wanted to know what the National Southwest Border Counter narcotics Strategy was. Look at the web link below. This is what I get. I have to pay to see the strategy/policy. Talk about foggy transparency. What an insult. As if the strategy itself wasn’t bad enough (as reported by the AP). America’s 15 million monthly marijuana consumers aren’t going away. We need to gain control of this market by regulating marijuana like we do beer, wine and liquor. Anti-drug efforts that leave the marijuana trade in the hands of the cartels are nothing but a full-employment plan for criminals. These professional drug warriors and cartel bosses could not write a better policy if they tried. Any thing short of regulation on our side of the border is not a serious proposal to address the southwestern narcotic issues. (70% = marijuana 30% = everything else) We can do so much better so much faster.

On your marks, get set …….Activate!!!!
as far as i’m concerned, i don’t see the snowballing rolling until we get marijuana off the schedule 1 substance list. that has got to be the first step. i can’t for the life of me figure out why that hasn’t been done….or why that’s not the big goal we are fixated on. i’m all for helping the ill…but dammit i’m healthy and i want to responsibly indulge in my favorite herb without the threat of being arrested!!! i want it legal for everyone!
I think they want things just the way the are. By their actions, they are cohorts of the cartels. In that context, everything they have done makes perfect sense. In the context of common sense, nothing they do or say makes sense.
One of the biggest problems, it seems to me, is Barack is not really the President, but just a puppet. He’s not the captain of the ship, but merely another figurehead carved on the bow for posterity.
Clearly the War Pigs (think Black Sabbath) are in control. It seems the main reason our govt. prints money is to hand it over to the weapons vendors, the military, and the other self-righteous overlords who are drunk off of power abuse.
Poor Barack, I really thought he was smart enough to tell the difference between the sheep and the wolves in sheep’s clothing. But perhaps maybe I was wrong about him, maybe he too is just a back-slapping, fist-bumping, plastic-wrapped, fake-smile, politician looking for short-term praise of humans, afraid of standing up for the deathly-encrusted ideals of our Founding Documents, and afraid to stand up to the Drug War liars and their illegal, unconstitutional, un-Biblical, religion of hate against marijuana (and other all-natural, unrefined, unadulterated plants).
Let’s get these sleeze bags out of office and vote for those that oppose this fake drug war which is really a War Against Americans!!!
If they really want to stop it, they would legalize it and let the cartels profit vanish before their eyes.
How much more of our children’s futures must we sacrifice to this Drug War Monster!!!!
THE DRUG WAR IS EVIL!!!!!!!
May the Drug War and All Elected officials who support the Prohibition of Marijuana be under the Judgement of God because the ruined lives of millions and the Blood of Millions cries out to God for Justice against the Minions of Satan!!!! Slavers whose place in Hell has been reserved waiting for them bound with chains of Darkness they will Suffer for this Evil. Oh yes God , Bless Them!!!!!
I do feel upset to be laughed at and to be ignored, because of what of some people would think when they hear the word “marijuana”.
let’s switch to the word “cannabis”
#18 & #19,
Thanks for the comment, we’re not so fortunate here in Tennessee. Politicians still believe without hesitation that marijuana is a joke for medicine.
As for the comments on God, I believe he will offer you a deal called forgiveness of your sins, “IF,” you forgive others. That’s a tough one while we’re here on earth since opponents have indirectly sentenced a lot patients to their deaths by blocking medicinal MJ.

I was going say something about all the anguish and hate, but then I do understand the reason of it all. If the law ever favors towards legalization, then it will be the prohibitionist that will do all the whining. History is being made and it’s well documented.
Prohibitionist are more highly criticized with their tactics and the waste of money along with their warp sense of logic.
I just got 2 emails back from after I wrote my reps and this is what they say.
Dear Mr. XXXXXX:
Thank you for contacting me about the legalization of marijuana. I appreciate hearing your views on the subject.
I do not support the legalization of marijuana. Legalization would belie the seriousness of the social, health and economic costs of drug use. In addition, some experts believe that this approach would lead to an increase in drug abuse, which our country simply cannot afford. The United States Chamber of Commerce estimates that lost productivity, accidents, higher medical claims, increased absenteeism and theft of property resulting from drug abuse by workers already cost employers billions of dollars each year.
While Congress cannot simply legislate an end to the drug problem in this country, we can make things more difficult for the drug growers and traffickers, encourage reductions in the demand for drugs through education, and address the social costs of drug abuse by improving treatment and rehabilitation programs.
Best Wishes.
Sincerely,
Carl Levin
AND here is another one i got as well .
Dear Mr. Ruditis,
Thank you for your email regarding the legalization of marijuana. I
appreciate your suggestion and the opportunity to respond with what I
hope will be helpful information.
As your State Senator, I work hard on State of Michigan issues
important to you. I appreciate your efforts to share your suggestion to
legalize the use of marijuana. As I am sure you are aware, last year a
group of citizens gathered enough petition signatures in an initiative
to put the use of medicinal marijuana directly before voters on the
general election ballot. On November 4, 2008, voters approved the
ballot initiative and the use of medicinal marijuana is now considered
legal within the State of Michigan. For additional information
regarding medicinal marijuana, please reference the Department of
Community Health’s (DCH) website
(http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,1607,7-132-27417_51869_52136—,00.html).
That being said, the legalization of marijuana in general is federally
outlawed. In fact, should the State of Michigan enact leaner drug
regulations, federal policies outlawing drugs would take precedent over
Michigan’s laws. Therefore, I encourage you to contact your federal
representatives at the phone number, address, and/or email address below
as they have direct influence over federal polices.

future, please do not hesitate to do so again regarding any state issue
of your concern.

Both of these emails was a reply back to what I said here to them .
“U.S. Customs agents got a surprise on April 9, when they checked a
trailer of an 18-wheel truck crossing into El Paso, Texas, from Mexico
and found more than 9,000 pounds of marijuana hidden among auto parts
bound for U.S. factories.”
Reason why I posted this is this simply points the fact I and many
other Americans know about if marijuana was legalized and taxed that
these types of problems with the cartel would no longer be a problem
being the legalization and taxation would strike a saver blow to the
cartel taking away their over 60% annual profit from keeping marijuana
illegal which if legalized and taxed would be like cutting off the legs
of a chicken to the cartel. But hey what do we know after all will the
govt listen to us? May be now they will and start to work with us \”THE
PEOPLE OF THE USA\” put an end to the cartels reign by legalize and tax
marijuana now be for the cartel does even more damage to our nation…..
I voted for you and am positive that you are for not only for the
people\’s voice of our state but that of our nation as well and am sure
you will do what is right by having our voice\’s be heard. I would like
to close this by saying keep up the great job and wish you all the best
whi
le in and out of office.
Sincerely,
Jeremy
When next election comes if PRUSI runs I will vote for him how ever if Carl Levin runs I will NOT VOTE FOR HIM and ask fellow supporters in MI to not vote him in as well……..
Karyn #23 hit the nail on the head… we need MJ off schedule 1 … actually it should not be scheduled at all. However, schedule 1 is rediculous. Bruce! How can we do this???
I am damn sick of OBAMA and MOST of congress selling us out !!! I have one question… HOW FREAKING LONG TILL THE REST OF AMERICA PULL THIER HEADS OUT OF THE SAND AND HELP STOP THESE TRAITORS!!! Come the hell on, Its there for all to see! Are the rest of Americans so afraid or brainwashed! They pay them selves and there corporate constituantes handsomely all the while shiting on the rest of us! They tell us to tighten our belts on one hand while they give them selves big raises with the other !!
This problem with prohibition is just the tip of the Iceberge!! Why arent people calling for resignations!! Its an outrage so many are silent!~ Never mind that man behind the curtain! God damned puppet show!
No one has freedom of speech if they smoke cannabis. You will be ostracized and become a social outcast when you are caught. Even your fellow smokers must watch you go down in flames lest they too become collateral damage in the war on citizens. It is sad but true. If you speak out against the oppression you must be dealt with because you too must be a “pot Head”. Even if you don’t smoke and know all the myth and rhetoric is exactly that myth! Most people can not say a thing because it hasn’t been exactly politically correct. This MPP article has created a great forum for venting and I appreciate everyone’s comments. I agree 110% with the idea of a single vote and taking marijuana off the schedule I narcotic list. I agree it is a first step towards states rights, legalization, halting federal funding to states for beating down the citizens and common sense. In Virginia we are organizing an annual march on the capitol while other activists meet with legislators inside. Keep fighting, organize, and oh-ya we need enough people to surround our state capitol next year. Follow the link below if you’re interested:

Wednesday Just Before Summer
It was after school Wednesday afternoon that Bobby had baseball practice, he was glad to be there and especially glad to be in the playoffs. His dad’s help and tutoring had paid off big time. He knew his mom & dad were proud of his baseball skills but especially proud and thankful for his scholarship to play ball. It was also after school Wednesday afternoon that Wendy had her last meeting with her high school honor society as a junior. She was looking forward to next year and being a senior already. Her mothers grace and poise had carried her a long way towards being who she was, and she knew it. Margaret got home early and began dinner preparations. She was very proud of her family and anxious to hear about everyone’s day. She looked forward to the day when they would pay off the mortgage but knew it wouldn’t be soon with one of her kids in collage and one on the way. Robert senior had left work thirty minutes ago and was maneuvering through traffic out of the city like everyone else destined for home. In twenty minutes he would sit down with his family eat dinner, help with dishes and catch a little evening news. It was late that night after the kids were in bed when Margaret and Robert retired to their room. Robert closed the door and opened a window. Margaret retrieved an ash tray and they sat on the bed. Neither of them smoked tobacco or even drank except socially. Robert lit a joint and took a puff and handed it to Margaret who also took a small puff and handed the joint back to Robert. A couple puffs more and they extinguished and set aside the remaining half a joint. They lay back on the bed and talked about their day, children, jobs and futures. Robert thought he heard something down stairs. Margaret heard it too, so Robert went down stairs. As he passed the front door it exploded in on him. Five heavily armed men crashed through the debris shouting POLICE, SEARCH WARRANT, STAY DOWN, SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. Someone yelled GUN! As Robert raised his head to see one of them taking down an antique replica shotgun from over the fire place he saw the sole of a boot coming toward his head. The last thing he heard that night besides the screams of his children and wife were, STAY DOWN. Robert lay unconscious on the floor just feet inside his front door. Robert and Margaret awoke in jail their children in foster care. The children were told about their parent’s secret marijuana plant in the upstairs closet. Apparently a concerned family member or neighbor had turned them in. Local law enforcement ran an article in the local paper about the Gateway drug marijuana which led to cocaine, a life of crime and eventual death from addiction. They were urged by local law enforcement to watch neighbors as well as family and report suspicious activity. They were also cautioned that the growing season was approaching. Robert lay awake in his cell thinking about the previous day, the future of his kids and wife and what impact the stigma of being a marijuana smoker would have on their lives. There are two kinds of armed home invasions in America today. Legal and illegal home invasions and they take place every day by the thousands. Would you have turned in Anne Frank’s family? Even if it was the law, would you? Who is in the neighbor’s closet or attic? Drug crazed marijuana smokers do not exist. It is a propaganda scare tactic. No one is going to smoke marijuana then rob and kill you. There is no such thing as marijuana addiction or a marijuana addict. There has never been a marijuana overdose. Marijuana prohibition creates criminals, places citizens in danger, employs hundreds of thousands of criminals while the unemployment rate for the rest of us sky rockets. Marijuana prohibition makes sure marijuana is available unregulated and untaxed on every street corner in America.
It’s no longer the bush drug war on freedom for me. It is now the Obama drug war on freedom. Obama is now the enemy of the American people. He is just a lying scum, a mirror image of bush. We need to get rid of him as soon as possible. Obama wants to correct relations with every group on earth except the American people. This guy is not to be trusted. I live in south Texas and see first hand what happens. They could bring in the marines and nothing would change.
Seems like the public is ready when the government is in denial. Here’s an example from a financial blog…
http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-to-balance-california-budget-you.html
Our (illusionary) Puritanical Government will fight Marijuana legalization with everything they’ve got. First of all, our society does not promote pleasure, except for Booze, which makes people unconscious to the world and problems. The Government (or Powers that be) wants its Constituents to be ignorant. Secondly, we marijuana smokers know the bit of “enlightenment” we experience when using, it’s hard to lie to yourself when you’re stoned. The last thing our Government wants is an enlightened and questioning Public, we might demand some changes that do not mesh with our money-worshipping Country.
there comes a point where the people will have to stand up and fight or lay down and be beaten. i would rather go out fighting than live in fear and tyranny.
Charles/Va – comment #35. Was that a true story in your town paper? If so, you did write a letter to the editor ?
Those stories are gut wrenching and yet we all know they exist. It was good of you to put it in comments for all the MPP bloggers to read.
Obummer said in his acceptance speech something like this, “thank you to all of you who voted for me and for those of you who didn’t vote for me, I want to earn your trust”.
So much for that one aye?
Keep watching him though people, we really have to be aware of what these bozo’s are doing.
#38 Cynthia
You are very right, they dont want us enlightened. We ask to many questions, look at things as they really are. They also know if we beat them on this issue,we will beat the hell out of them on all other issues. I love how Obama duped the cannibis smokers that voted for him. I knew he was just lying to get thier votes. So what else is he lying about? oh there I go questioning my government. To bad I havent smoked cannibis in years,Imagine the questions I would have…
This is getting rediculous, as far as i can tell, cannabis is just a plant that does no more harm than booze. I smoke it when i feel like it regardless of stupid laws. It is decriminalised here in Western Australia and all the problems that a black market cause, still exist. The organised crime groups still make huge profits and the government here just can’t/won’t accept that the drug profits are the reason these groups exist and wreak violence on each other and occasionally innocent passers by. I can’t see myself spending to much time on this battle, i think it has as much chance, as getting rid of religion. Prohibitionists and religious zealots have so little going on in their lives that they can spend 100% of their time fighting common sense. Fortunately, i have a life and refuse to spend my time arguing with these morons.
I have to admit, i was very happy when Obama won the race and hoped that finally some intelligence would be injected into the US government. It appears that he doesn’t beleive in legalisation of MJ, on what basis I can’t fathom. I truly thought he was smart enough, and tough enough, to do the intelligent, rational and right thing in regards to this issue, especially considering his history with recreational drugs. Wrong again, looks like another generation of bullshit thanks to the US lead war on drugs.
At the end of the day, i don’t care how the US treat their population, i do care that they try to push their ideals on me in my own country. DEA, stay the fuck out of my country and stop influencing my government to make moronic drug laws like you have in your own country.
Look at this and let us get this in the ranks to help our cause .

NONE OF YOU GET IT! Our government sees us all as property. THEIR property. Every penny we earn is taxed, we are PAYING THEM to LET US WORK. WE ARE SLAVES!!! SLAVES DON’T HAVE FREEDOM. SLAVES DON’T HAVE CHOICE! STOP BEING A SLAVE! TAKE YOUR FREEDOM!!! DON’T LET THEM TELL YOU WHAT TO DO! SMOKE IT UP PEOPLE SMOKE IT UP WHILE YOU CAN.
we are all slaves anyway. what master gives a damn about a slaves happiness or health, especially when you have so many other slaves? Wake up america! We have no freedom. We only have what they let us have. We PAY THEM TO LIVE!!! Don’t agree? What do you think taxes are? We pay them to train people to protect us. We pay them a percentage on EVERYTHING WE NEED TO SURVIVE. We pay taxes on food, clothing, shelter, vehicles, utilities, we even pay them out of our own PAYCHECKS. They get it right off the top. Then we have to pay them extra from our food and everything else? DOES THAT REALLY SEEM LIKE FREEDOM TO YOU? How is that freedom? Doesn’t sound at all like freedom to me. It sounds like slavery. Doesn’t sound like a democracy either. What happens if you can’t pay their taxes? They take things from you that you need to survive. Your home, your car, wages from your check, they can take everything inside your home and sell it, then still make you pay out of pocket. They cease your bank accounts, credit cards, EVERYTHING, until they get THEIR MONEY. The corporations do it too. What do you think they are doing when they are sueing you for that 2,500 dollar hospital bill. Or the last 600 dollars you had left on the car you were buying? They garnish your wages, they file a rit of execution, (thats where they come and take your home and the things from it sell them at auction for whatever they can get for it, not the value, just what they can get for it.), they WILL TAKE EVERYTHING. You might be thinking, well they can’t take everything I still have my family, WRONG WRONG WRONG. Your “family” is their property too. You don’t have a home you don’t have ANYTHING because they took it and then they take your family. WHY? HOW? You don’t have shelter, clothing, food, nothing to provide for them. Then your children are gone, given to a family that pays their taxes and jumps through their hoops like good little sheeples! JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.
Dear Alone, You find yourself on a hostile Planet called Earth. Being born on a battlefield not of your choosing is a bummer, but if you can’t sing and you can’t dance, you simply do your best to get through it. Some slaves can become free, Free as the Eagle that flies closer to the Creator who loves us. We are indignant, and angry. Being only a visitor to this planet, with plans of escaping this ride on the Titanic as the lights are about to go out and the cries of the terrified and frantic are rising on the air, I am calm. I have done and will continue to do my best until Jesus raptures me out of this Man controlled and Moron controlled government. They will only miss me when my bills are unpaid and come and get my house and cars and all that they can find and put my name on a wanted or missing list. But I will be gone with millions of other Jesus loving christians to let the rest of you fight for legalization of Marijuana. Just do not let them put a microchip in your right hand or forehead. Weed will probably be legalized in time, but as a free man visiting this planet I never needed anyones permission to have fun or smoke weed. Politicians are afraid the if Jesus is real, that his fury will be awful. I can’t wait!!!! I hope to hear prohibitionists beg for their lives in front of Jesus, Tell me that is not going to happen!!! So while we suffer, not in silence. I have Patience and time … Oh yes it will be wonderful to be watching how Jesus treats those who have robbed, beaten, and Murdered his people and the sick and the dying…He is our avenger!!! If you haven’t seen him, he will be on a white horse with thousands of angels on white horses in a massive column behind him. His eyes are blindingly brilliant, more than the sun, and He is not afraid. Politicians, be afraid, be very afraid… He is coming and when I leave this Planet I hope I get the chance to give the finger to all People in Power who have abused the sick and weed and dying!!!!!!!!!
DEA’s denial is based
exclusively on the scientific and medical
findings of HHS Department of Health and Human Services, with which DEA concurs,
that lead to the conclusion that marijuana has
a high potential for abuse.
Trip, Alcohol and Cigarettes have High Potential for Abuse and they are Legal. They Kill Thousands of People every year, where weed has not ever been listed as a killer. The DEA are a necessary evil at the moment, who else will protect us from the Drug Lords? Even though the Drug War has put them into power. We the People are caught in the crossfire!!!!!
