Marijuana Arrests Set New Record — Again
The latest Crime in the United States report from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program is out, and the news is disturbing. Marijuana arrests set another all-time record in 2007, totaling 872,720 — that’s a marijuana arrest every 36 seconds.
Arrests for marijuana possession totaled 775,138, greatly exceeding arrests for all violent crimes combined, which totaled 597,447.
Bizarrely, at his recent press conference announcing new drug use survey data, White House drug czar John Walters stated, “We didn’t arrest 800,000 marijuana users,” and called that figure, when raised by MPP’s Aaron Houston and Dan Bernath, a “lie.”
Well, he was sort of right. Dan and Aaron were low by 72,000.

No! Eat cans of bean and send that money to them instead. Steak dinners won’t legitimatize medical marijuana. Also, I hear steak dinners are so 2007. The newest craze is dolphin.

WELL START WITH CONTROL GROUP USING A PLACEBO BEING HEMP AND THE TEST PATIENTS USING MJ. THEN GLAUCOMA AND THEN AIDS WASTING. iF CONGRESS GIVES US THE RIGHT TO PROVE IT’S EFFICASY, THEN HAVING SOME MEDICINAL VALUE, RESCHEDULING WOULD BE A GIVEN INSTEAD OF HOPING THEY WILL BE PERSUADED BY LOGICAL ARGUMENTS.

That figure is both tragic and disgusting. Please stop wasting my tax dollars on these people.
Whenever arguing with a drug czar, use numbers that force him/her to capitulate. “Did we arrest at least 700,000 marijuana users?” He/she is forced to answer upwards.
