Help Support MPP With Facebook

This holiday season, Facebook users can help MPP and other groups earn money with just the click of a button.

The Chase Community Giving Challenge allows users to help decide which organizations receive $5 million from Chase.

The first round of voting ends Dec. 11, and the top 100 charities at that point will each receive $25,000. (Winners will be announced Dec. 15.) In January, another round of voting starts for one $1 million prize and five $100,000 prizes.

Right now MPP has close to 1,000 votes, but needs more to have a chance at winning. If you support MPP, and have a Facebook account, please vote for MPP here

Yesterday, via Twitter, both Adrianne Curry @adriannecurry and Slightly Stoopid @SlightlyStoopid asked their followers to vote for us. Each user gets up to 20 votes, so you can also help support our allies, such as Students for Sensible Drug Policy, or any other organization of your choice.

Until it’s legalized, some of us have too much to lose if our support were public. Good luck though!

#2, understand where you’re coming from however, you are part of the problem.
With that said, I did leave Facebook because I concluded that it was non-productive. Certainly do hope #2 that you’re at least donating money to the cause, I am.

#2 we have the right to an opinion in this country. That’s supposed to be the whole point of Democracy. So yes, in a way you are a part of the problem. Just because you vote for a group that supports legalization, it doesn’t mean you smoke it and are breaking the law. It’s not like you are posting pictures of yourself smoking weed and engaging in illegal activity on your Facebook page, you are just voicing an opinion that the current law should be changed. And it could just be you want people with medical problems to have access to it. How is it wrong to try and help people in need? However, I do recognize that people will assume you do smoke weed and might look down on you if you vote for it but its not like you have to go around and let everyone know that you voted for it. When you vote just make sure you don’t publish it and post it on your wall. Even if an employer happened to find out that you voted for the group they have no right to fire you for voicing an opinion.

Thanks steve. As far as the sad faced #2 goes I rarely let loose my true feelings over such comments. Leave it to your imagination because I’d love to rip these types a new ahem, excuse me.
“good luck though” ending comment. Go away yo-yo.
And yes, I may comment too much, do you not think I don’t realize this? Ending Prohibition is such a worthy purpose in this life time for me that it drives me on and actually it’s what’s keeping me alive today as each night that I go to bed, (because of my multiple physical illnesses) I hope to die.
Go figure.

MPP is not a charity

7 Stephen |cleveland| { 12.03.09 at 10:21 am }

Your Right its not a charity , It is a non profit organization though and has been from the start so its not like they are lying to us. They rely on us to keep them going, and ill try my best to get some votes going your way MPP. Keep Fighting the Powers that be!

Agree with #4. I am a professional 25 year old with a job in a community that deals with people everyday… (trust me not a sales associate at Home Depot… try funeral director) and I support MPP on my facebook page. This is a point that is mute among people with common sense as well as a sense of intelligence.

i dont think #2 is part of the problem, #2 may actually not want it publicly known he supports legalization for professional or personal reasons, i am in the same boat. i want to support, but to afraid of what i could lose if i showed support. my professional job does not tolerate even talking about drugs, and i have to many associates on my facebook page.

I agree with #2 it can be bad to voice your opinion if the wrong people get a hold of it. Say if you can be associated with a dealer or people that been busted for possession. Police have been known to harass people they suspect or just don’t like. They have also planted drugs on people so they can say hey look another pot head let’s throw them in jail and take their kids away. Then your landlord can say you were busted for drugs I’m evicting you. Your employer can fire you because it’s damaging to the image of the business. So in the end you lose your kids, your job, your home, and now have a criminal record even if you didn’t smoke pot. All you did was voice your opinion! I do support the complete legalization of cannabis though.

And also wouldn’t be more effective if all these pro cannabis organizations united into one entity?

Democracy and the voice of the people can change laws. I can’t stand Vicodin, it kills your ambitions, your drive and ultimately your soul… Marijuana was the best medicine for my pain, insomnia and my anxiety it got me back studding and my job performance never been so good, that was in California but when I came to Texas Oh gosh, I see how stuck and behind this place really is. We need to do something about it, vote and fight for your “rights” the government doesn’t know what your body needs to function properly. For over one yr now I have not touched the medical marijuana and it hurts but I rather have the pain than pills. VOTE, VOTE and VOTE.

Dang! Some people need to get off of their high horse. I’m not going to explain why I can’t support this so overtly (and not because of personal risk aversion in general) but suffice it to say I am doing everything in my power to support the cause.

You can vote without publishing your results to your feed, not sure what the issue is…

#11 – nope! The more diverse approaches we have, the better! The more groups there appear to be, the greater we show our movement to be.

I think you who support but can’t voice are just cowards. If you truley belive in mpp and in this maricle medication you would without a dought put your vote publicly or private. Why even try and help? why have an opinion when the first thing you do is tuck tail and run when they need you the most. I don’t care about your job nor do the millions suffering so get another job fools and make it work for you Or don’t at all. I was a supervisor for a large heating and cooling company many years (lennox) and I openly supported and support many orginazations like this one with no negative repercusions. EVER so I don’t understand #2 #8 #10 13 you know I also am part of a large terrorist awarness group that activly sends these haters letters and meet them on the picket lines, don’t see you there either. You afraid of them as well? you are the problem not the solution. your fear is what holds you back and keeps you the gutless cowards you are.

FREEDOM OF SPEACH when, how and where are the answeres to this right., We are close to reaching many goals in this country and loosing a few as well. Money helps spread the word but your ass bieng there and speaking up is the main ingredient.
