Does Justin Timberlake Use Marijuana? “Absolutely.”

One of America’s most well-liked entertainers just publicly admitted that he uses marijuana. That’s right, Justin Timberlake, boy band ingénue, actor, and all around nice guy, told Playboy that he uses marijuana to, well, relax. How refreshing to see someone dealing with the pressures of fame by using something safer than alcohol, instead of jumping on the crazy train.

From US Weekly:

“The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking,” the Bad Teacher and Friends with Benefits star explains. “Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high.”

Whatever his reasons, it’s good that someone with such a high profile feels comfortable sharing his experience with marijuana in public. No one should ever have to be afraid to disclose their marijuana use, and they certainly shouldn’t ever go to jail for it. Hopefully such statements by universally admired celebrities will help people feel safer starting that conversation.

  1. Great! Justin can host one of the Saturday Night Live episodes this fall when Seth Meyers does a Really segment with an actor doing a pro-cannabis Really against prohibitionists, specific person or in general. Or, it could be a cameo or the actor portraying the cannabis reformer interrupted in the Really by a cameo of someone from MPP, NORML, DPA or even the honorable Mr. Soros himself. If you’ve been reading my cross-postings on NORML’s blog and my earlier postings here on MPP’s blog, then you are familiar with the concept that if NYC goes California cannabis style or anything similar then cannabis prohibition is pretty much over. Investors on the NY Stock Exchange would love to trade cannabis in U.S. dollars legally. The U.S. government would love to use NGOs and intelligence agency shell companies to gather intelligence, all the while giving Americans the best cannabis products from Morocco to Afghanistan and the Parvati Valley in India, from all around the world. It means instant jobs, instant government revenues. Seth Meyers got his start in comedy in Amsterdam at Boom Chicago. The selection in New Amsterdam and Harlem should be as good as, if not better than, the selection in Haarlem and Amsterdam.

  2. Pot does me the opposite. It makes me think about everything because it expands my mind.

Some people use pot to help them sleep. Not me, pot keeps me awake and I will spend all night playing my guitar and enjoy every minute of it.

What I like best about pot is that I would enjoy talking to myself and feel like I’m having a party when there is no one around.

I think there is a psychological and a scientific explanation of how pot affects people differently. What I think is that it fills in the part of the mind that is most needed.

Anyway all that is three years in the past. I want pot and I want it legal now.

  3. smoking marijuana is the only thing that really and truly takes away the severe aches and pains in my neck, back, shoulders and spine. i have been dealing with chronic pain for years, and i have taken every prescription drug i could get my hands on. i’m not saying it’s a cure-all or that it’s any better than whatever legal painkiller is out there, but it works for me.

  4. I agree with quite a few of you all. I definitely don’t stop thinking, it takes my aches and pains away also. I have been a welder for quite some time and it takes a toll on an individual. Your whole body as a matter of fact. I was in the market to find another job and I had to clean up my act to do so. The first 30 days or so the pain wasn’t so bad. Now that it has been 150 days since my last medicating session I can definitely tell I need my cannabis. I don’t think as clearly now either. And cannabis is by far better than any other form of pain medication that any Pharmacy has on the shelf. At least if you take too much it won’t kill you. You just may come out of it with an empty fridge. Free The Weed!!

  5. Remember this is a BOY with a brand new lease on life. Justin my friend, it’s your body that slows down in motor skills but you know that cause your lazy like most young men when given the option. However, all us old timers know we like to have a good think during moments of being stoned. The seperation between body and spirit is almost spiritual cause the body slows faster, much faster than the mind. Let’s not get too technical with Justin, sit and right a best selling song by all means! Hey, the Beatles did it and we loved the music!

  7. Pot makes me think more. But it affects everyone differently, just make sure you get your munchie food beforehand, it will make you lazy.

  8. It affects every body differently and of course there’s their guess on what’s going on with their own mind and body, regardless, who gives a sheet about most this any ways? ..marijuana is safe and is actually good for the body and depending on who you are – the mind.

  9. I have chronic pain from degenerative bone/disc disease. Plus i have servere Neuropathy & bone spurs in the heels of my feet that are growing hook like towards the front of my feet ,both of which have them on the bottom of my flat feet which has caused more nerve damage. i have a tumor growing along the lower part of my spine about the length of a few disc & vertabreas. My eye site has gotten worse with the neuropathy .I have acid reflux to the point that it has damaged my tongue so badly that i cant eat any thing with spices or even pizza & i am 1/2 italian! so i have to suffer & eat bland foods. I can go on about the bulging disc in my spine or the 30% angle that my spine is off by or at the base of my twisted spineit curves at the base like it was rung out like a wet rag. but all the dr. in mn. do is pump me full of opiates & other meds to the point i get so constipated,i dont have bowel movements for 6-10 days at a time & my home nurse has to help get them out. & then its so large that it wont fit down the towlet so she has to take it out & go dispose of it in the woods like an animal. If the dr,;s whom drug test me every other month when i pick up my pain meds. if i get a dirty urine with pot in it, i will be taken off of them within a very fast detox. then i will suffer to the point that my bad heart might give me a heart attack that can kill me. i have to live off of s.s. $674 a month. if not for the sec. 8 that pays part of my rent, i would be homeless. but i would love to move to new mexico where i can get gree medical marijuana from what i have read on mpp. but i need the help getting my stuff there & finding a plce to live. i have the money to move, but not the help to pack & drive a truck of my stuff there. and cant afford the cost of the payment of the moving truck. i have a few months rent saved up to get into a place, but my family & friends are all in ny & fl. & they arent in the position to help me either. i cant go back east because of my bad health or continue to stay here in mn. because the cold is killing me. can any one out there help me? or know how i can get the help to get to a state like n.m. that i could afford to live in & get off all of the high amounts of pain meds so i can switch back to medical marijuana. i cant afford to buy it, thats why i cant afford to live here in mn. plus the 1 plce i know of that i could get it is about 200 miles away & it is the junk mexican scack/all stems & seeds & leaves & over the cost of $300 an oz. they are just taken advantage of me because i had no where else to go, so i stopped a few years ago & my health has got so bad, i can hardly walk for more than 3-4 minutes until my knees & lower back give out. i am only 43 & some times i wish i was just dead so i wouldnt have to suffer any more.

  10. Weed does the opposite for me. I’m more motivated, can be extremely detailed(to a fault) and I can do everyday living while high. I’ve smoked 24/7 for approx.30 years. I own my own business, a house and two cars. I’m not a slacker as portrayed in cinema. Oh yeah, I am also a runner & love the fact that weed has ZERO calories. No one seems to mention that fact. On top of it all it controls my migraines and the nausea associated with them.
