They cannot study vaporized or any type of marijuana use. It would mean the loss of billions of dollers in revanue. They can not make a dime if we all grew our own meds. That is all it is about. MONEY.

From Testimony to Congress April 2004.... Department of Heath and Human Services:

"Marijuana is not a benign drug. It is illegal and has significant adverse health and social consequences associated with its use. Given the fairly recent discovery of the endogenous cannabinoid system and the tremendous science advances that followed, the development of useful cannabinoid-based medicines is an important area of investigation that should prove fruitful for a variety of health conditions. However, the use of smoked marijuana as a medicine is problematic due to its adverse health consequences and the inherent difficulties with respect to accurate dosing and the purity of the formulation. Approval for the use of marijuana, or perhaps more importantly purified compounds based upon the chemicals found in marijuana, as therapeutic agents must show substantial evidence of effectiveness and show the product is safe under the conditions of use in the proposed labeling. Safe, in this context, means that the benefits of the drug appear to outweigh its risks. "

Furthermore the Department of HHS says this about smoked marijuana:

"The reports [the 1999 IOM report - "Marijuana and Medicine: Assessing the Science Base"] noted that there is greater promise in purifying the active constituents of marijuana and developing alternate delivery systems, such as inhalers, rather than studying smoked marijuana."

So my question is why aren't they studying VAPORIZED Marijuana?????

"purifying the active constituents of marijuana " ---- isn't this exactly what a vaporizer does???

Now I know our leaders have lost thier minds. I just heard they are talking bout forcing americans to buy health insurance or they have to pay 1000$ or more in fines! How the hell is a person gonna pay the freakin fines if they cant pay for health insurance in the first place. Whats next? Jail if you dont pay the fine. We are in serious danger here people. This little hell they are creating is for us not them. Damned if we do damned if we dont.

drug testing really bothers me, its a infringment on our rights to our own bodies. Isn't there anything to protect people from having to give up rights to themselves just to have a job. just because they can prove you consumed marijuana within the last couple weeks doesn't mean it was irresponsible use or endangered anyone or the employer in anway, but you can get drunk every night and come to work hung over and thats totally fine. seems to me that businesses should want people to consume marijuana instead of alcohol or cigarettes to cut health care costs for everyone.

Christina #51

That article ia appauling!!! Another example of a Major Pharmaceutical company getting their product through FDA approval without a real investigation of the chemical.

"Dr. Ross knew something that Dr. Hanson didn't. "The company submitted fabricated data, the FDA knew it, and they approved the drug anyway," Dr. Ross says. Many of the patients in Ketek's clinical trial, in fact, didn't exist -- a point an FDA higher-up had ordered him not to tell the agency panel that was considering whether to approve the drug."

Our government would rather us take these chemicals that will damage the liver, but they won't let us vaporize a little marijuana that doesn't damage anything? They will give depressed patients medication that may cause them to have thoughts of suicide (that sounds like a smart idea), but Marijuana is so dangerous that it has to be banned when it's not toxic enough to ever cause death?

FDA = Fucking Dumb Asses
FDA = Fabricating Drug Analysis
