I suffer from meny mental illnesses like bi-poler and insomnia, marijuana is the only drug that has ever really worked for me. I can no longer use THC because of the laws. I need this drug to do everyday things and keep me normal. We need this law so I can go to my doc instead of the streets to pick up my drug.

M, just wanted to let you know about MPP's work in NY. We have actually had a lobbyist working there for nearly seven years who has secured the support of virtually the entire state medical community. We have also helped pass the medical marijuana bill twice through the Assembly, but it was killed by the former Republican majority in the Senate, who wouldn't bring it to a vote. Finally, we've run TV, radio, and print ads and polled key district and Conservative party members.

This year, we're really excited about NY and its chances, and we will be working hard to pass the bill under the new Democratic Senate leadership. Definitely make sure to sign up for NY alerts, at www.mpp.org/subscribe so you can find out how to help.

Great news!

As I'm sure you know New York introduced bills in the state assembly and senate last week. I believe that NY can be a leader in marijuana reform, as it is with so much else. I would like to know if MPP plans on lobbying in NY in the next month or two to ensure that the legislation is not ignored as it has been in recent years and to support the efforts to have a bill signed into law?

Thanks for all your hard work, keep it up!
