Medical Marijuana in Israel
While the U.S. government was busily denouncing medical marijuana as some sort of “drug legalizer” conspiracy, one of America’s closest allies in the world quietly set up a medical marijuana program. Israel’s medical marijuana program has gotten virtually no press in the U.S., but this Jerusalem Post article from a few months ago has some of the basics.
Medical marijuana access is restricted to a handful of indications such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and Crohn’s disease, and to patients for whom conventional medicines have failed. This week, Dr. Yehuda Baruch, who runs the program, told me that a total of 222 patients have gotten government approval to use medical marijuana, with 113 actively in the program at present.
Israel, of course, is one of America’s closest allies, with both President Bush and Democratic candidate Barack Obama regularly speaking of America’s “special relationship” with that small nation. But perhaps Drug Czar John Walters thinks that Israel, too, is part of the conspiracy to “fool” the public into thinking marijuana is medicine.

As a practicing behavioral health therapist, I have had numerous opportunities to observe patients with bipolar affective disorder. Many of these patients are noncompliant with pharmacological medications, due to adversive side effects. However, many of them relate to me that they can smoke a joint daily and thier moods remain level without the rollercoaster up and down mood swings. I have to note that from my observations of these people, I have to advocate for legalization.

im 22, and i have never once, ya get that ? never once gave 1 single thought to drugs, or marijuana.
i never once used any of it, marijuana, meth, alcohol, crack, Oxycodone… none of it.
and i grew up in philadelphia, pennsylvania.
a place that is LOADED with it.
as a matter of fact, i would not even know where to BEGIN shopping, even if i did want to buy it

obviously i know where to get alcohol, but you know what i mean.
I never used any drugs except fot anti epileptic drugs
at the age of 59 when the epilepsy was out of control, i was able to control on comming seizures with marijuana.
Medical marijuna? not for me!!
