Medical Marijuana Bill Introduced Again in West Virginia

Manypenny

Last week, Delegate Mike Manypanny (D-Taylor) introduced a medical marijuana bill for the third time in the West Virginia Legislature, and this time it looks like people are taking a lot more notice.

It is certainly positive to see the media covering both sides of the issue, including MPP communications director Mason Tvert being quoted in the Charleston Gazette:

“There is no reason this should not be discussed. It is an issue taken up in dozens of states. It is time for it to be discussed in West Virginia.

“This is part of a nationwide increase in momentum. We’ve seen medical marijuana bills introduced throughout the country, including states many people might think would not be supportive,” Tvert said during a telephone interview.

A majority of West Virginia voters believe the state should enact a law allowing seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana, according to a January 2013 poll conducted by Public Policy Polling.

The overwhelming majority of west virginians would love to see this law passed and their are plenty of people who would benefit from it.itit’s completly insane it hasnt happened yet. I am a Marine scout/sniper who was in a helo accident to just mention one of the traumatic expiriences ive had. I suffer from ptsd as well as several other issues. I read a report that the veterens administration were trying medical marijuana on ptsd patients in states out west where it is legal, with a 100% success rate. if that is the case why is our guys who are comin home now have that same help. I guessthey want us all to suffer, the ten yrs we put in the war zone wasn enough I guess.

what about the south (Georgia, Florida, etc.) when does the campaign to legalize marijuana start. If you win in the south everywhere will change. It has been proven through history.

I have severe arthritis in my spine and pain pills are not working plus I worry about liver damage from this medicine this is why I think it should be considered as a different way to treat people with severe pain problems.

I live in WV and I hope they legalize it. I have stage 3 cancer from radiation exposure in the military, nerve damage and ptsd. Mariquana has helped me more than any nausea or mental illness pill given to me and even kept me from committing suicide.
