John Walters’ Drug (Office) Abuse

Funny Bruce should mention White House drug czar John Walters’ taxpayer-funded boondoggle to Michigan to throw his political weight against the state’s medical marijuana voter initiative yesterday.

It just so happens the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released its report on White House abuses of the Hatch Act, which governs executive branch employees’ participation in partisan political events, the very same day.

The report singles Walters’ office out for its audacity, saying, “Even offices with statutory provisions prohibiting political activity, like the Office of National Drug Control Policy, were enlisted in the election effort” supporting candidates identified by the White House.

In addition to his extraordinary willingness to flout the law, the committee also noted the drug czar’s enthusiasm for doing so. Indeed, White House political affairs official Doug Simon called Walters one of their “superstars … going above and beyond” to abuse his authority for political purposes in some of America’s most “god awful places.” That’s right, America, Mr. Walters loves his party so much he was even willing to come to your lousy town – on your dime – to push its partisan agenda.

By the way, we’re not sure how Walters could have inadvertently run so far afoul of the law – we’ve been trying to warn him for years.

Bless those heroes in Washington willing to identify the infractions of, and speak out against, the ONDCP.

You can only do terrible things to people for so long before you have to pay for them.

There is a Justice higher than our own “version”.

There’s no love lost between me and todays Republicans. They’re no Abraham Lincoln’s. But, let’s be careful about who calls the kettle black. Obama picked Biden for VP and he’s one of our nations meanest drug warriors. He helped fashion the property siezure laws and the paraphrenalia laws. He helped create the ONDCP and coined the term ‘Drug Czar’. Democracy has no place in it for a Czar of any kind. What kind of Democrat wants a Czar? Biden is very proud of being a senior prohibitionist. He’s blocked the way to regulation of cannabis at every turn. Both Obama and Biden are strict party-line men. The Democrat Party is for prohibition. So, let’s give it a rest about how Obama is going to legalize cannabis. He’s for big government. Because, that’s where his power lies. Getting rid of DEA jobs will reduce government jobs and power. Get it?

History will judge All Drug Czars harshly for making the use of intoxicants, euphoriants, and the like a crime. Creating a black market economy which allowed real Drug Lords to reap obscene profits, arm and equip mercenaries, and change our lives forever. The police, who were once our friends became our enemy who could storm anyone’s house and through fear and force of arm’s terrorize the local population. The Public became caught in the crossfire. A war that they did not create. With no end in sight… But I will vote Obama because, even if there is a slim chance for some mercy to come through him, it is better than no chance with Mc Cain. Peace.
