Good News/Bad News From Illinois

Let’s deal with the bad news up front: Bogged down in a major fight over budget and tax issues, the Illinois House of Representatives finished its spring session and left town without acting on the medical marijuana bill. Legislators generally don’t return to session until a November “veto session.”

The good news is that we made historic progress this year. The bill passed the state Senate for the first time ever, and cleared all the necessary House committees. That leaves the measure well positioned for a vote either during the veto session this fall or when they reconvene for the next full session in January.

In a statement issued earlier today, House sponsor Rep. Lou Lang (D-Skokie) said, “This bill gained more and more momentum at every stage of the legislative process, and I think the pace at which it moved is testament to the support it enjoys.”

We’d all prefer to see the process happen faster, but neither MPP, the bill’s sponsors, nor the dozens of courageous patients who’ve come forward to speak about their own personal experiences with medical marijuana have any intention of giving up.

Same here in Mn ,not even close to stopping whatsoever,palenty or not,state after state passes this,and here in Mn, backwards about 50 yrs on issues palenty says no,NOT EVEN IF YOU’RE DYING,WOW well its not even close to being done here,palenty ought to be ashamed, but that would mean he has a conscience and brain ,which are seeming no where to be found.

It passed by a very slim margin. Personally, I think there could have been some time – I mean how much time could it take to vote on something??? I’ve watched C-span! They deliberately kept Medical Marijuana Users Criminals until November. I can tell you – we just got it to get going in MI and there are already test cases every where that are going to take quite a while and
Cost GREAT expense. To even more sick and dying tax paying American Citizens. Some are injured Vets and Ex-Boarder patrol…but we are warned that Law enforcement can disrupt any MMJ club Meetings and harass you and take down your license plate# and all the fun stuff that goes along with Law enforcement. OH and just try to get any genetic material to begin your garden and you are still treated as if you’re still a criminal. You feel funny and Caretakers are just like regular Doc.’s – Some, I’m finding out, are want to be’s with dreams of big bucks. A lot of things need to be ironed out – I still feel paranoid – maybe even now more than ever -which to me -a registered with the MDCH as a bonafied card carrying member of the MI Medical Marihuana Program shouldn’t be. (I HAVE MS-DON’T BE JEALOUS, BELIEVE ME)
I really think a patient should be able to order GREAT strains over the net in MMJ states. How are you going to get Medical grade MJ seeds or clones if it’s illegal to get seeds- it’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID!!! You are forced to grow MERCH or be VERY PARANOID and go to networking…and then you enter the real gray areas of the law like NO ONE but you (Patient) and your Caregiver can enter your grow area…but it’s OK to let someone peek from a far – You can’t attach a dollar value to MJ at all so you have to say-”How much does it cost for your caretaker services and I’d like to reimburse you for the time and effort”…all semantics! It’s stupid as it is – we need help MPP! TRUE Victory has not been achieved in any state, if you ask me.
BUT, we have made HUGE strides in the last few years so we all need to be patient. I know one thing, Bad Law cannot stand. It must be amended.

November, maybe? Possibly 2010? How many people will die between now and then? Denied there relief. Is everyone in this forum knowledgeable of Mr. Rick Simpson from Nova Scotia. He has the cure for cancer via hemp bud oil. If you are not familiar with him go to phoenixtears.ca and check out the video Run from the CURE. It might very well be the answer to you or a loved ones cancer.

Sad news, I don’t get why the government wants us to be criminals seriously. Glad to have made historic progress so far this year though.
Everyone here should sign this petition to legalize marijuana if you havn’t already!

again, why the hell can our representatives take a half year vacation, the SOB’s dont work any way. They get paid to say yea or na, sign a few things, and go about their business. If you think there is more, then wtf do they do? They dont research the shit they vote on. They dont go to their local hospital where terminally ill patients are. WTF do they do?
I get 2 weeks paid vacation and I work hard for that…they get 5 months? and then, to you people that are like, “its ok, they have already made historic progress”…now im not a mean person, but I can take a shit in my hand and guess what, I just made history. Enough said. Im getting tired of waiting and talking.

And while you are at it, file a complaint regarding the Iowa Board Of Pharmacy’s incompetent and evil decision claiming that medical marijuana was not scientifically validated:

Floridians, don’t forget about the petition to put medical marijuana on the vote in 2010 as a ballot initiative! Print, sign, and mail the petition, that’s all there is to it! This is approved by the Division of Elections.

OHHH NOW NOW ROE- sometimes ya gotta just say F- yesterday, there’s NOTHING I can do about that and Don’t worry about tomorrow, Worry can’t change a thing, so TODAY is all you KNOW you have and can cantrol. so TRY to extract some happiness here and there and where evr you can find it. Even if just in your daydreams…BUT LIVE NOW! Try not to wish it away too, I also have been diagnosed depressed. MS related reasons for my MMMJ Licence, and I hate to see you write that, g May I suggest you go outside and get away from the pc, look at the sky and feel at one with the Earth and Know that Our creator, whomever you percieve him or her or it to be has a wonderful future for you waiting.
Try to think of all the other people who have horrible diseases and are giong to die as you read this. The “after” will come soon enough, LIVE and BE HAPPY, MJ will work it’s self out – things are actually looking up a bit just since I posted that other post…well, today I met a wonderful “Caregiver” that I trust right by my home and someday, maybe soon if you all get involved and try not to fear our government, but realize that you ARE our government(government Of the people BY the PEOPLE – That’s all of US right?) then someday it could happen for you in your state. If not then maybe MASS MIGRATION to MMJ states would send a clear message that voters count. I know it’s really hard if not impossible to just pick-up and leave, so I’ll be praying that all you people out there are someday finally free in the United States of America. That really used to mean something. Lawmen – please back off, no one that injests MJ for any reason is a threat to anyone. You don’t HAVE TO make the arrest if you judge the law as being TOTALLY unjust. Do you?

20 JJ { 06.03.09 at 1:18 pm }

ron, i dont think ROE is talking about suicide….he is a pot smoker, not an alcoholic…lol…but anyways, I believe he is saying that why live in a country where your fellow countrymen dont give a rats ass about your rights as long as they have money in their pockets…just a bunch of shit…it does make me wanna move to another country…like canada…only not canada

21 PapaRon420 { 06.04.09 at 3:39 am }

I sure hope not, all I meant was to offer hope.
To me,” The world is not worth living in” is a clear sign of suicidal thoughts. I know some people are really “down hearted” about the problems with the law involving MJ. Robbin Prosser was in so much pain and distress that she committed suicide. Check some details on this site under Victims. It’s serious stuff. I sure hope you know this person and know that’s true. The world was mentioned, not “our Country”, and we can’t smoke on the Moon yet so…???
